The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

MY REVIEW
Rick Riordan has once again triumphed in the book industry creating whole new story out of modern Greek myth. He has introduced three new characters to the story all with unique talents. The three characters are Jason the main character son of Zeus and the leader of the quest,Then there is Leo the sidekick, son of Hephaestus, and the builder of trinkets and gadgets that usually saves his and his friends lives. Last but not least their is piper, she is the daughter of an unknown goddess till about page 133 where you find out who her mother is. (Its between Hecate and Aphrodite in my opinion)I won't spoil it piper,is also Jason supposed boyfriend(he doesn't remember her so there is no proof).
In the begging Jason awakens on a bus with no memory of any current events he doesn't even know his last name. When he wakes up he find his girl friend, piper who he has never met before and his best friend Leo who he doesn't know. Its all really confusing to him because he has no recollection of them at all. They say they have know him for at least a year but he doesn't remember anything before he woke up.He later finds out his bus is actually a school bus on the way to the grand canyon for a field trip. Then when Jason gets there monsters come and try to KILL him!!! Next thing he knows hes at this weird camp where they say he has to train to fight monsters.
From pipers point of view Jason is acting really weird he doesn't claim to remember her at all. At first she thought it was a joke but after a while she could see it was serious. Then out of nowhere a bunch of monsters attack her. To make things even stranger a girl comes and says they need to go to camp to learn how to fight monsters after they succeed in winning a fight with the monster that was attacking them. Even with all these events the only thing really on her mind is Jason, how could he forget her it had taken a whole semester just to get him to kiss her and now he forgot every thing. Now she has to start all over WITH MONSTERS!!!
From Leos perspective nothing really happened his friend claimed to not know him but that was just a little strange maybe a joke even.Things really started happening when those storm spirit thingies came and attacked and he fell into the grand canyon! Then to make it even more amazing Jason came and saved him not with a bungee cord or a harness not he just dived right in and floated them up!!!!! After that when he got to the weird camp his was claimed by Hephaestus god of fires crafts and blacksmith which was......unexpected.
All this and now they're supposed to go on a quest to save some could-be-made-up god named Hera AND destroy a big giant of some sort. of now they want some fifteen year old kids to save the world and all before the solstice. It wouldn't be the first time but it would be for these characters.can they save Hera before Gaea destroys the world with her son the giant king Porphyrion. Will Gaea destroy the world or will Jason and his friend save it with the help of their parents and the wind gods like Aeolus or Boreas.
For my personal review I give it 4 and a half stars(out of five). It is really great but he messed up a little of the history like Jason getting married to Medea.Besides that it was great .There was humor at every corner with a followup of a witty remark. Always plenty of action everything was consistent and almost every character had chemistry. I recommend it to all.
All I have left to say is RICK ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.
Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he’s in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?
Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all—including Leo—related to a god.
The sequel
Now as of 10/4/11 Rick Riordan has made the sequel "The Son of Neptune" which is in my personal opinion just as good as the first. I would suggest buying it because like all Riordan books at almost any library about a hundred people probably have it checked out ahead of you. Even if your one who doesn't part with your money easily, just know its definitely worth it.
